Collection: Jeff Fichera

Central to Jeff Fichera’s art practice is close examination. As he studies a subject (usually an everyday, overlooked object) over many weeks and often many months, a world of information is revealed. An internal logic becomes apparent in a swirl of precise details and interlocking shapes. The resulting image is an amalgamation of realism and all-over abstraction. His works are imbued with a quiet intensity due to the careful observation and concentration they require to execute. Fichera has a BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and an MFA from the University of Pennsylvania. His paintings and drawings can be found in dozens of public and private collections including Citibank, The Hall Art Foundation, and the Ogunquit Museum of American Art. His work has recently been exhibited at Park Place Gallery and Tiger Strikes Asteroid Gallery in Brooklyn, and Lesley Heller Workspace in Manhattan. He lives and works in Queens, New York.
