About

Mosquera’s work is a representation of her personal reactions to specific events. She uses color and design elements, like pattern and texture, to describe a subtle tension within these mental landscapes. Using the language of abstraction, she finds a way to make sense of the world around her and the way she experiences it. Laura received her BFA and MFA degrees in painting and drawing from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work has been shown nationally and internationally in museums and galleries, including the Contemporary Art Museum (CASA) in Salamanca Spain, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, Feigen Contemporary Gallery in New York, moniquemeloche gallery in Chicago, and Hall Street Gallery in Savannah. Her work is in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, Centro de Arte de Salamanca Spain, the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, the Capital Group, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, and the Savannah College of Art and Design. Laura lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
